Sing or speak into your microphone and get an instant, free voice analysis. In singing mode, the tool rates your singing out of 10 for pitch control. It measures how close each note is to the right pitch, how steady your held notes are, your vibrato and the range you used, and shows every note on a pitch trace. In speaking mode, you get your average pitch, intonation and clarity.

How to Use AI Voice Analysis
- Choose Rate my singing or Analyse my speaking voice.
- Pick a recording length: 15, 30 or 60 seconds. For singing, 30 seconds of a song you know well works best.
- Press Start analysis and allow microphone access.
- Sing without backing music, including a few held notes, or read the passage shown. The live display shows the note you’re singing and how many cents sharp or flat it is.
- Wait for the timer, or press Stop & analyse when you’re done. Your score, breakdown and tips appear straight away.
Use a quiet room and keep the microphone about an arm’s length away. If the display says too loud, move back, because an overloaded microphone lowers the score.
How Your Singing Score Is Calculated
The score measures five things in your recording. Each gets 0–10 points, and they are weighted into your overall score out of 10:
| Part of the score | Weight | What it measures | 10 points | 0 points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pitch accuracy | 40% | How far each held note is from the nearest correct note, in cents | 5 cents or less | 30 cents or more |
| Pitch stability | 25% | How much held notes drift or wobble, not counting vibrato | 4 cents or less | 25 cents or more |
| Held-note control | 15% | The share of your singing spent on steady, held notes | 75% or more | 25% or less |
| Range used | 10% | The distance between your lowest and highest held notes | 15 semitones or more | 3 semitones or less |
| Tone clarity | 10% | How clear and periodic the sound is, as opposed to breathy or noisy | Very clear | Very breathy |
A cent is one hundredth of a semitone. Pitch accuracy is measured against your own tuning. If you sing a whole song slightly flat but keep every note in tune with the others, you still score well, and the result shows the overall offset separately as Overall tuning.
Understanding Your Results
- 8.5–10: excellent pitch control. Notes land close to pitch and held notes stay steady.
- 7–8.4: strong. Mostly accurate, with a few notes drifting.
- 5.5–6.9: good, with room to improve. Some notes are noticeably sharp or flat.
- Below 5.5: developing. Many notes miss the pitch. It can also mean the recording was noisy or mostly speech.
On the pitch trace, each held note is a bar. Blue bars are within 15 cents of pitch, amber bars 15–30 cents off, and orange bars more than 30 cents off, which listeners usually hear as out of tune on a held note. Vibrato is detected when a held note wavers regularly. Trained singers’ vibrato is usually around 5–7 cycles per second, and the tool doesn’t count it against stability.

Speaking Voice Analysis
Speaking mode doesn’t give a score, because no speaking voice is “better” than another. Instead it describes your voice:
- Average speaking pitch in Hz and the nearest note. For a detailed breakdown, use the voice frequency test.
- Pitch range: the middle 80% of your pitch while reading.
- Intonation: how much your pitch rises and falls. Under about 2 semitones of variation sounds flat or monotone, and more than 4 sounds very expressive.
- Voicing, clarity and loudness variation: how much of your sound had a clear pitch, whether it sounded breathy, and how evenly you spoke.
How to Improve Your Score
- Accuracy: sing slow scales with a piano or tuner and watch the live cents reading. Aim to land each note within 10 cents.
- Stability: hold an “ah” for five seconds on a comfortable note while keeping the reading still. Steady breath support matters most.
- Held-note control: choose a song with long notes rather than fast runs or rap-style phrases.
- Clarity: record in a quiet room and use a clear, supported vowel instead of a breathy one.
- Range: pick a melody that moves around. Our guide on how to improve your vocal range helps you extend it safely.

Accuracy, Limitations and Privacy
The tool detects pitch about 30 times a second with the YIN pitch-detection algorithm, then groups the readings into notes and scores them with the fixed rules above. The “AI” is this automated analysis, not a chatbot or a cloud model listening to you. The sound is processed in your browser, and nothing is recorded or uploaded.
The score describes one recording, not your talent. It can’t hear tone colour, style, emotion, diction or how pleasant a voice sounds. Background music, other voices, echo and very breathy or very low notes can confuse pitch detection. It is not a medical assessment. If you have ongoing hoarseness or pain, see a doctor or speech therapist.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can AI rate my singing from 1 to 10?
Yes. This tool gives a score out of 10 for pitch control, with a breakdown that explains it. It rates what can be measured reliably, such as pitch accuracy, steadiness and held notes, not whether a voice sounds nice.
Is this AI voice analysis free?
Yes. It’s free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser on phones and computers.
Why did my score change when I sang again?
Different songs, keys, microphone distance and room noise all change the result. Compare scores for the same song in the same place, and use 30 or 60 seconds for a steadier result.
Can it tell my voice type?
No. A song only shows part of your range. Use the voice type test to compare your full range with the six voice types.
