In short: VocalRangeTest.com uses cookies for two things: Google Analytics, to count visits, and advertising by Journey by Mediavine, which keeps the tools free. Our voice tools themselves set no cookies and store nothing in your browser. You can change your choices through the privacy link in the site footer and in your browser settings.
What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep, so it can recognize the browser on a later visit. Similar technologies include pixels (tiny images that report a page view), scripts that read device information, and browser storage. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of them. This page adds detail to our privacy policy.

Cookie names and lifetimes are chosen by these providers and can change. If you are logged in to WordPress or leave a comment where comments are open, WordPress also sets its standard cookies for that.
Analytics Cookies
Google Analytics helps us understand which guides and tools are used and where people get stuck. It does not receive your microphone audio or your results: our tools never pass them to any analytics or advertising script. Google processes this data under its own privacy terms. You can block analytics cookies in your browser, or use Google’s opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics.
Advertising Cookies
The site is supported by display ads from Journey by Mediavine. Mediavine and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies, and collect information such as your IP address, browser and device details and the pages you visit, to decide which ads to show, cap how often you see them and measure how they perform. Ads are not endorsements, and advertisers have no say in our content or tool results.
Your Choices
- Consent message: where the law requires consent, Mediavine’s message asks for your choice before advertising cookies are used for purposes that need it.
- US opt-out: the privacy link in the site footer lets US visitors opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising.
- Browser settings: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, for all sites or just this one. Blocking cookies doesn’t stop the voice tools from working.
- Industry opt-outs: the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) and the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) offer opt-out pages for interest-based ads.
- Private browsing: cookies are deleted when you close the private window.
Opting out of interest-based ads doesn’t remove ads; you will still see ads that are not based on your interests.
Microphone Access Is Not a Cookie
When you start a tool such as the vocal range test, your browser asks for microphone permission and remembers your answer itself. That setting belongs to your browser, not to a cookie from us, and you can change it in the browser’s site settings. The audio is analyzed on your device and never uploaded; see data security.
